Major Arcana Patterns

A method of establishing the overall substance and theme of the reading is to examine the concentration of Major Arcana cards in their various positions in the six rows of cards. When three or more appear in a line, someone else is making a decision that will affect any future decisions of the Questioner.

If the concentration of trumps is in the Past line, this means the questioner is now adjusting to important life changes initiated by another person’s decision. Three or more trumps in the General Atmosphere or Present lines means that someone is making a decision now that will have an effect on how the Questioner will make future decisions.

When the grouping of three trump cards is in the Outer Atmosphere Line, the Questioner might not yet know of a decision someone else is making that may affect how he will have to make future decisions and may not even know the person making the decision. In the future lines, the decision is still to be enacted, and consequences are still to be seen.

Concentrations of Major Arcana cards in the past, present, and future show that the situation is ongoing.
