Summary of Synergy Tarot Method
I have outlined a series of organized steps that will enable you to conduct a comprehensive tarot reading for yourself or another. The steps I have outlined are as follows:
Shuffle and deal the cards from left to right in six rows of seven cards. Each row represents a specific dimension of experience, starting at the top with the Past, followed by the General Atmosphere, Outer Influences, the Present, the Future Possibilities, and finally, the Future. Leave out the General Atmosphere, the Outer Influences, and the Future Possibilities when you first start.
Make a general survey of all the cards in all the rows, noting Major Arcana card concentrations, runs on particular suits and numbers. Interpret the general indications of the reading on the basis of any noteworthy patterns.
Examine the court cards, noting the lines in which they appear. Using the characteristics of the suit and the hierarchical rank of the representative court cards, attempt to profile the attributes of the individuals and nature of their contribution to the situation through their actions. Note how they might connect to what you noted in the way of Major Arcana card concentrations, runs on particular suits, and numbers while doing step two. Identify the cards that could be the questioner.
- Determine the topic and nature of the question by checking for key cards that describe particular areas of experience and circumstantial phases of life. How do they relate to what you already know? Focus silently and let the possibilities flow.
- Fill in the details of the reading by identifying the specific incidences and events that shape the question. Read each card, one-by-one in sequence, and interpret its significance in the context of the specific line it appears, starting with identifying the event that you asked the questioner to think about six months ago. What follows is a complete interpretative index of the seventy-two cards that comprise the tarot pack.
THE CARDS AND THEIR MEANINGS
I have provided the following index of tarot cards as a reference for your readings. The descriptions are based on traditional meanings of the cards as I learned them and personal discoveries I made about how they relate to the gypsy tarot spread and the synergy reading technique.
THE MINOR ARCANA
The way I have organized the presentation of the Minor Arcana cards is a departure from the traditional approach, which typically presents these cards in order of suit. I have chosen, instead, to organize this index of interpretations according to number because interpreting number patterns is a specific technique of the Synergy Tarot method. Since numbers are a prime distinguishing feature of the cards, it is worthwhile to consider meaning on this basis in conjunction with the suit values.
THE MAJOR ARCANA
I have based the following interpretative notes on the significance of the Major Arcana cards largely on my own observations through personal experience. For easy reference and recognition, I have identified the twenty-two cards by Roman numeral and name, as they appear in the Rider-Smith sequence.
